I followed the pattern exactly in the teen/adult size, however I did one less row of black double crochet since this was made for an 11 year old. Quick and easy, and the yarn is super soft. I also love making the chain for the pompoms using this method (chain, then slip stitch), instead of braiding - I think this looks a lot better.
