Notes

Eminently grab-able (?) and chewable (for babies, that is). Fun, quick, and a little complex in the construction, but worth the trouble. I made another (same colors - gave it away without taking a photo) with just 3 stitches and slightly longer chains for a loosely woven ball that’s even easier for a baby’s fingers to grab.

c/o 5
31 rows st st
make 6 (join ends of each strip for a circle after constructing the ball by weaving the strips together - I held each together with pins until I had it completely constructed, then did the sewing of the ends) -

Next time, try holding provisional beginning stitch and final stitches (no cast-off) of each strip on small safety-pin stitch holders; weave together the ball, pinning ends together temporarily; then do a graft of each when ball has been constructed.
