This pattern is the ‘Denim Wrap’ pattern from Debbie Bliss’s ‘Great Knits for Kids’, but I guess I have an earlier version of the book than the one Ravelry has on file -- mine is the 1997 edition.

Most of the yarn is from a giant spool of navy blue denim that my stepmother gave me.

I’m using this pattern to make a baby blanket, and the last time I used this pattern it took six months to complete, so I made some alterations:

• I cast on 125 stitches.
• The increase round was:

K13, * (Kfb,K1)x2, Kfb, k19 , repeat section, Kfb, K19, repeat * section, (Kfb, m1)x3, k14

and took the number of stitches from 125 to 138.

• I reduced the number of panels from 15 to 11:

(ABCD)x2 ABC

(the original repeated ABCD three times instead of twice.)

• The decrease round should be:

K13, * (K2tog, K1)x2, K2tog, K19 , repeat section, K2tog, K19, repeat * section, (K2tog,K1)x3, K14
