2025 update: this yarn pilled almost instantly and over time several stitches broke and unraveled. I wouldn’t recommend using this yarn for a sweater.

I’m so glad I’ve made this twice - once for me, and once for my mom!

Not alternating skeins on garter but alternating when stockinette begins.

Used German short rows instead of the wrap and turns in the pattern. I like the way they look and they’re frankly a bit easier to execute.

Love working with plucky primo fingering, it has the perfect drape for this sweater! #dailyplucky

I did an Icelandic bind-off on the hem.

Used size 4 needles for the sleeves. Picked up 73 sts (3 out of 4 on stockinette, 1 between each ridge on garter) and decreased in first knit round to pattern size.

Knit 12 rows past last decrease before switching to ribbing on size 2.5 needles.

Knit 32 rounds of ribbing and then did a tubular bind off. For setup rows I slipped purls with yarn in front and knits I slipped purlwise (untwisted) with yarn in back. Used size 2 needles for bind off.

Picked up 74 stitches on the other arm (3 out of 4 on stockinette, 1 between each garter ridge) and decreased in first knit round to pattern size again.

Picked up 3 out of every 4th stitch on stockinette and 1 per ridge on garter for the button band. I knit 10 rows of the button band before binding off in pattern (I was going to do a tubular bind off, but… no).

This was about 9 weeks of knitting, with a big break in the middle.
