What I learned:
- Making a provisional cast on
- That s1 k2tog psso should be done with a slip-as-to-purl, not a slip-as-to-knit (I have done it wrong for 20 years…)
I also learned:
- Diagrams should be read right-to-left…
- Frogging mohair is not a thing you want to do
- Udoing a bind off in mohair is ten times worse than frogging…
12/05: Finally blocked the shawl. I LOVE IT!
04/05: Cast off! The size is a lot better now. Only blocking remaining. Have bought some galvanized steal tread and will try that as blocking wires.
26/04: Am going to knit two more repeats.
24/04: Decided to cast off (have not knit anything the last week). But now it seems far to small :( Not sure how much/well mohair will block, so wonder if I should unravel the edging and knit a repeat or two more…
17/04: Having a hard time deciding how big to make the shawl. I think it is now around 60 cm long (and should be around 1 m wide if the proportions are as indicated in the pattern).
09/04: Realized that when finally trusting myself to change from reading instructions to the diagram, I just kept on reading left to right… Frogged a whole repeat of the pattern :(
08/04: Finished row 30 of the second repeat. Difficult to see how it will turn out, looks a bit uneven, but I guess blocking will fix a lot.
07/04: Cast on!
Very excited about this :) I have never knitted lace weight before, and never fluffy yarn as mohair. Normally I like a tight gauge and yarn with high definition, so this is very untypical for me.
