Frustrating - Getting gauge is a problem. First tried 3.0 mm - too tight. Then tried 3.5mm needles - too big. Last attempt: 3.0 mm for the cuff and 3.25 mm for the hand, knitted from the top down. Problem: Although the hand length was good, the thumb was much too long, by about 1.5 inches. Can’t shorten the thumb without ruining the motif.

Will try again with a different yarn. Will frog this one later.

Disappointing

Nov 8, 2020 - Finished on 2nd attempt. Thumb still too long. Omitted first 4 rows where I picked up stitches at the crook of the thumb. Used same navy yarn as above and 3 mm needles only. Used white and darker green of Estelle Double Knit.
