2016 was the Year of the Monkey (and Bear) for me. The idea was to make a few to use up my yarn stash, and then give them away. Once I started I couldn’t stop. I made a few and showed them to my sister, who promptly gave them to pregnant co-workers at their baby showers. Then more friends, relatives and co-workers saw them and the requests came pouring in. I’ve made so many bears and monkeys that I’ve lost count. (And I still have barely made a dent in my stash!) Monkeys and bears I’ve made are now living in other provinces in Canada, in China, and Iran. They are more well traveled than I am! It’s on to other things now, and I’ve put a damper on the requests, but these monkeys and bears will still be my favourite toys to knit.
