Notes

Oh! I just discovered that if I make these with cuffs having only two purl welts instead of three, I can eke out a pair in the small size with just one skein of the Vintage Chunky! (130 yards)

Which is awesome because the Vintage Chunky is perfect for this project - bulky weight yarn that contains some wool for breathability, plus some nylon for durability, and is affordable.

The blue ones were done this way.

Tighter gauge makes for a nice snug fit. These can be made smaller and fit more snugly like socks. I have made some that knit to 8 garter ridges instead of 9, for a narrow foot.

The bindoff edge curls in making that top welt look narrower than the others. I sometimes do an extra round of purl before binding off, if I have enough yarn.

Finally settled on Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy bindoff, worked fairly tightly or with a smaller needle so it’s stretchy but still snug enough.
