Hat the Second for Souper Bowl 2025

I grew up loving my visits to the shores of Lake Michigan in the heat of summer. I was teased in college for visiting a mere LAKE, rather than a real beach at the ocean. How little those folks back east knew. The Great Lakes are freshwater inland oceans. I had to include this national park in my raffle collection!

The pattern describes the park like this:

From kite-flying and sandcastle building on the shore of Lake Michigan to hiking and camping in nearby prairies and forests, Indiana Dunes National Park has much to offer anyone looking for outdoor adventures. From fall foliage to spring wildflowers, every season brings something new to explore. Even the cold winters bring activities such as skiing and snowshoeing. With the subdued colors of a lazy summer day, this design features wooden boardwalk fences, grassy dunes, and gentle waves splashing against the shore.

Made from stash yarns, my interpretation is slightly different than the original hat photo, with more varied hues of blue, true to the lake’s stunning colors.
