I really started the lace yoke last night. I had a difficult start right after casting on because I did not understand the chart and I had to ask for help in a group. Now that I do understand, I just can’t put it down, and I keep telling myself “OK, I’ll do just another row…”, again and again…

I was about halfway through the waist shaping part on my daughter-in-law’s birthday. It was meant to be her birthday present, but I went back to work sooner than expected. I decided to show it to her anyway to let her know that it was coming, and have her try it on before I continued (I had kept it as a surprise until then). Good thing that I did because the waist shaping decreases did not start at the right place for her body type! So I ripped back about 5 inches and started over with the waist shaping. Now, it’s almost done. I have about 12 rows of lace edging to finish then I’ll block it! Yeah!

I’m proud to say that my modifications to the waist shaping were perfect in the end. The fit is excellent! Marie-Pier is very happy with her present!
