I’ve been dreaming of making this sweater ever since this issue of Pom Pom came out! I was lucky enough to snag a sweater quantity of gorgeous yarn on a discount in the most perfect “seafoam” colour way.

Swatch (blocked) with US 10 needles gives gauge of 20 stitches and 32 rows per 4 inches. Pretty much on gauge stitch-wise.
Decided to knit a size 2 (37” chest) using US 10 needles for main body and US 9 needles for ribbing.
A few weeks ago, I had completed about half the back panel and decided to block to make sure things were on track. I was thrilled to discover that the fabric was perfectly on gauge after blocking. HOWEVER, since blocking, the panel seems to have shrunk back up again. Current measurements show that it is too small, measuring 16.5” across at the widest point -- 2 inches short of where it needs to be. Very strange indeed.
Haven’t been able to face project for a week or so, but have come round to the fact that I should start again and either size up the sweater or size up the needles. Concerned I won’t have enough yarn for a larger size jumper at “shrunken” gauge, have decided to size up needles. Don’t recall loving the fabric as much on larger needles, but needs must.

Restarted size 2 with US 10 for ribbing and US 10.5 for main body.

Finally bound off neckline and blocking!
I modified to knit the body and sleeves in the round with a faux seam which I then sewed up with mattress stitch to give it some more stability.
I also made some changes to number of row pattern repeats to adjust length for my gauge but wasn’t 100% successful because I think the sleeves are too long. I did a k2, k2tog tbl bind off at neckline and not sure I love how that turned out. There may be a neckline re-do and some sleeve surgery in the near future!
First knitting project where I’ve sewn in/set in sleeves, and it went great! Knit armscye to 7 ½ inches and knit sleeve cap as directed for size 3 and they fit together well with the slightest easing.

Sleeve surgery! I had two too many repeats on the sleeves and they hung past my hands, so I picked up ~54 stitches and cut off the excess sleeve. Sleeves worked bottom up and I’m picking up and working top down, so things are slightly wonky. Worked one round either k or k2tog or ssk to sort of keep the spirit of the lace pattern, and ended up with 34 stitches — perfect because I found the old cuffs to be too loose. Worked 1x1 twisted rib.
