Swatch with US 4: 4 stitch garter border on each side, 3 repeats of 8-stitch lace pattern, 2 repeats of 10-row lace pattern (plus 4 rows above and below of atockinette, total 28 rows in swatch)
Unblocked: 4” wide (24 stitches), 3.25” tall (28 stitches)
Blocked: 4.25” wide and 3” tall
Prefer looser fabric of US 6 but US 4 is closer to gauge. Maybe split difference with US 5. Making Size 2 @ 38.5” bust; meant to have 3.25” to 4” positive ease (my bust = 36”), so size 2 at looser gauge could work.

After finishing front section, realize I miscounted and have 96 st rather than 104 st. Thinking I’ll add these spare 8 st to the armholes (4 st to each armhole)…
So instead of leaving first 12 st of each back section on hold, I’ll leave 12 + 4 = 16 st on hold. Or 20 st to make front and back even?

Yes, held 20 stitches at each underarm so I had an even front and back with 96 stitches each. Modified body by adding a row or two to each stripe to extend the length a little (compensating for my slightly-off row gauge).
