I used the vest pattern for the body and the Takeo pattern for the sleeves as George has a slight build with wide shoulders and the vest fits better than the boxy Takeo. I lengthened the sleeves trying on as I knit. I added two inches to the armhole circumference of the vest pattern and did not shape the armholes, but knit straight to shoulder, resulting in a nice dropped shoulder.
After I made this sweater, my husband started running again and promptly lost twenty pounds! (While I was knitting it, he kept advising me to make it nice and big!) Now, I’ll have to try and shrink it! Sound familiar?
