Notes

I altered the preemie pattern for the eyelet hat to make a newborn size as follows: with DK yarn, cast on 88 sts on US #3 needles for 2x2 rib and rib for an inch; first row of body, increase 2 sts one on each side of first knit row producing 90 sts; in the body, knit an extra 8 rows of eyelet pattern; knit one round; knit second round decreasing 2 sts, one on each side producing 88 sts; start decrease rounds with a {k6, k2tog}* round producing 77 sts; next round knit; next round {k5, k2tog}* producing 66 sts; next round knit, and so on altering 1 knit st per decrease round down to {k2tog}* all around.
The hat with the rolled brim and top sprout is a pattern from Debbie Bliss’s Baby Cashmerino 2 book. I added the simple knitted flower. Its multicolour yarn was Koigu’s premium merino in shade P156, dye lot 59.
