Notes

Knitting size 2 for approx 4” positive ease. Gauge was spot on with recommended needles, both stitches and rows.
Using Wooltops new Poldale DK, with CC2 from my ColourMart samples.

Knitted the yoke with the final version for the increases, which is the one that’s in the final pattern. It fits perfectly.

Added 1.5” to the length of the body before starting the colourwork, and took off 1” from the bottom ribbing.
Added 1.5” to the length of the sleeves.

All else made to pattern, apart from swapping the colours on the 5th motif around on the right sleeve, and added a motif to match, starting on the first row of the pocket lining.

As the sleeve is knitted in the round, knitting this one Intarsia means that the yarn ends up at the wrong end for the 2nd row. I left a long tail at the start of the first (pink) row, ready to pick up and use for the 2nd row, and did the same for the last 2 rows.
I caught the floats across this motif for the other colours, ready to continue the next motif.

The pocket is really easy, the exact number of rows are specified in the pattern for both the outside and the lining, so there’s no guesswork to make the lining fit. The stitches are knitted together to join at the bottom, so only the sides need sewing in place afterwards.
I cast on for the pocket using a cable cast on, done purlwise.
To flatten the edge curl on the lining I spray misted it with water, turned the sweater inside out to pin it in place to dry before sewing it, then blocked the whole sweater afterwards.

Here’s a good way to mark out the line for sewing the sides of the pockets. You can use waste yarn if you don’t have DPNs, but you’ll need to make sure you don’t catch it with the needle. I used 2mm DPNs.
