I gave my first Summertide to Francesca, because she loved it so much, so I had to start another.

This yarn is the same spec as my first Summertide, so I followed any small mods I’d made from that one:
I followed size 1, apart from making the armhole depth for a size 2.
I only made 2 purl bumps on the edgings (knit a row, purl a row, repeat once, then bind off knit wise).
I picked up 78 sts around the armhole (39+39), so the middle of the shoulder line lines up with SSK.
My working row gauge was 30, rather than 32, stitch gauge was correct.

This is the same yarn I’m using for La Storia, not sure what I’ll do if I don’t have enough for both…

I knew it would be close, so I left out a couple of the short rows at the hem, starting the first DS in the same place as the pattern, but making the remaining DS 6 sts apart, rather than 4, and finishing in the same place as the pattern. It still looks nice, and has just enough curve at the back.

Measurements, blocked:
Back neck, width, 9.25”
Bust, measured immediately under the sleeve edging, 43”
Circumference around at bottom hem, 40”
Length, from top of shoulder, next to neck, to hem, at the back, 23”
This gives me 8” of positive ease.

Finished weight, 152g, 706m.

Now I don’t have enough left for La Storia… I was so close!
This yarn has been discontinued, and I can’t get any more, so La Storia will need a rethink.

I really love this pattern…the shape is flattering, and it’s so comfy. There’s plenty of room in the body for air to circulate in the heat, too…
