Because I want to knit smaller size, I use US 5 needles, instead of US 6.

ETA: Later, I used US6 needles to knit another pair for my aunt, but it became larger than the gauge, so afterall, using US5 was a good decision.

Heel-to-toe length - 7 inches for my mother; her shoe size is 23 cm.

I sent these with fingerless gloves to my mother for her birthday presents, and she loved them. Since she approved it, I am planning to knit them in the same color (yes, that’s how my mother requested to me) for my two aunts, who are my mother’s younger sisters.

太めの毛糸でパターンもシンプルなので、サクサク編めちゃいます。Quince&Coの毛糸ならではこそ、しっかりとパターンが浮き出て可愛らしい仕上がりに。毛糸の色味も、濃い過ぎるか薄すぎるか届くまでドキドキしたのですが、ギリギリ濃すぎない、温かみのある色で安心しました。私にしてはすごく早く出来上がった靴下です。あと叔母用など幾つか編む予定です。

追記: 日本人の標準サイズ用にはUS5の棒針使用をお勧めします。私がUS6で編むとゲージより少し大きくなったので、2足目からもサイズ5を使用しました。細身の方は、糸もちょっと細めに代えて、針はUS4を使った方が良いかもしれません。逆に言うと、締め付け無いので睡眠時等には心地良さはあるかも。
