Notes

When I read that Amy named this colorway “Murakami” from the image of the first scene in “Norwegian Woods”, I immediately remembered the cover of its DVD. Then I thought I wanted to make a cowl with this yarn.

01-25-2016

I started knitting with US 8 needles. When I finished the first skein, I was able to knit four repeats. I feel that I am knitting too loose. I decided to frog and knit again with US 7 needles, instead of 8.

02-15-2016

I used up one skein and finished five repeats plus twelve rows. It looks like I may be able to knit eleven repeats with two skeins.

03-03-2016

Finished 11 repeats. I am now going to block it to the finished measurements, if I can. Then sew it to a circular cowl. There was just enough yarn for 11 repeats.
While I was blocking it, it could be stretched as long as my honey comb cowl, or even longer! I definitely can wrap it around twice around my neck.
I also noticed that colors are pooled around the center of the cowl. It is perhaps the end of first skein and the beginning of the second skein. I regret a little that I didn’t alternate skeins.

03-04-2016

Done! It is shorter than honey comb cowl, but it is enough long to wrap my neck twice. It’s so cute:)
