Interesting technique to produce the filet like mesh, with three worked rows to equal one line of the chart. Not quite as geometric and precise as crocheted filet, but so far I’m quite pleased. Working this up as a practicum in the technique, possibly to use it for some of my collection of graphed Italian Renaissance patterns from TNCM and T2CM.

Late breaking addition - found the Ur source of this design, a pattern from the Siebmacher 1603 edition modelbook. Have posted graphs of differences between this and the original, and will be knitting the center section from the original to add to this modern redaction/modern method piece. And final post - it’s done! Over 8 feet wide, prior to blocking. And I can’t block until I have someplace to do it, since I can’t exactly pin it to marble floors, and the beds are too small.
