Made with my small changes to the pattern, here are 2012’s winter colors! Verily I present: PURPLE STARTLE, VERMILLION CROCODILIAN, & BITSIE BOOGIE

These knit up pretty quickly. The pattern is great for a beginner. Make sure to knit on needles a bit small for the yarn to give the boots some good body.

The “claws” were made by a doubled-up cotton yarn.

I doubled-up the Wool of the Andes for the sole of the foot. This makes a stiff sole, which for a newborn probably isn’t necessary but is good for a slipper in general.
