Chris admired the laptop cover I use when traveling and after much deliberation decided he’d like this pattern knit into a laptop case. Ideally the case will be about 15 x 10.5”; assuming my gauge swatch is correct I’ll be just a bit bigger than that which will allow me to add a quilted lining.

Of course, the Elephants Blanket kit I have is the red kit and Chris wants the blue, so I’m digging into my Hebridean leftovers for this one!

I knit four elephants repeats, but after blocking that didn’t look right, so I pulled out the last section. I also realized I’d missed the Witchflower round at the top of the first elephants section, so I picked out the Calluna round, knit two rounds, and grafted the pieces together. It’s been a while since I’ve grafted colorwork to fix a mistake, and I find it quite satisfying!!

Then I added a double layer of quilted cotton and a zipper, to make this a nice, protective laptop case for Chris.
