This colorway’s fairly variegated so I wanted something simple: garter-stitch body for squish, with a large-scale, graphic edging that wouldn’t get lost in the colors. I actually debated using the edging from Romi’s Bitterroot pattern, but I didn’t feel like reworking stitch counts and having to figure out where in the charts to start the edging to get the effect I wanted.
Because I must be contrary, I added the two extra increases on the WS on either side of the center stitch- I want it to be longer, closer to heart-shaped, instead of wider.
4/4: halfway through chart B in two hours. If I felt less like a plague-ridden carcass, I’d keep going, but I kinda want to rest up.
4/5: plague-ridden carcass notwithstanding, I cranked through all of charts B and C in less than 24 hours! Tomorrow I should be able to get through most of, if not all, of D, which is the final chart.
4/6: FINISHED! And damn, Gina, but I was srs-bsns worried I wouldn’t have enough yarn to do the bindoff…I ended up with two teeny-tiny little mini-skeins- like MAYBE five or six yards- left by the time I finished. I’ll give it a quickie steam-block tomorrow morning so I can take FO pix for the KAL thread!
