I really like this shawl.
But: written charts honestly give me headaches… All those abbreviations and brackets and repeats really confuse me, even if the pattern is easy. My brain just can’t handle it!
Charts help me concentrate on my work. They make me understand the pattern. One glance at the beginning of the row and everything is clear to me.
So I started charting the pattern with stitchfiddle. It’s the first time I’ve ever done this and maybe it’s not perfect. But it helps me.
With the kind permission of the designer “ValerieKnitsToo”, I will share my charts with you.
Thank you, Valérie!
Important note from the pattern page regarding section 1 that I only saw right now while trying to explain the pattern to someone who doesn’t speak English:
From now on when I knit my sample I added a YO between the 2nd and 3rd st of the seed stitch border, both on RS and WS rows, which I dropped in the next row, just to give more stretch to the border. I did not write this YO in the instructions
I wish i had seen that before!
Information to the charts
Please note that:
I do not chart the 5 edge stitches (known as “@” in the pattern.
I do not chart the stripes in the contrasting color because except of the beginning and the end of the row it’s only knit.
(So you will still have to go to the pattern page to have the full pattern with all the details. I only charted the sections 1, 2 and 3.)
