actually my yarn is a 6-ply. i just divided it into 2 3-ply-strands and somehow regret i didn’t divide it into 3 2-ply-strands (since 2-ply is what is mentioned in the pattern and it would have been lighter with 2-ply… and the tiny beads would fit in better and i would have more yarn left over to try a matching dancing cranes beret… and… and… and…)

well here it is with a 3-ply yarn anyway!

swatched to see where to place the beads and to try a little change i made in the pattern. i like it better now :-)

here’s what i changed:

in rows 3,5,7,9 and 11 i changed the last ssk to k2tog

and

in rows 17,19,21,23 and 25 i changed the first k2tog to ssk.

placing the beads:

• rows 4, 8 and 12: 9th stitch of pattern repeat
• rows 18, 22 and 26: 4th stitch of pattern repeat (this is a total of 6 beads per the repeat of 28 rows.)

it’s the first time i use the cable-cast-on-method and like it very much!!!
