Notes

Used yarn left over from this project. Adding to my 1960s look with this belt.

Started with white/pastel yarn for the center part of the belt:

Chain 9. SC in 2nd chain from hook and in each subsequent chain to the end (8 SC total per row). CH1, turn.

SC in each SC across, CH1, turn. Repeat for as long as you want the belt.

Used aqua yarn for the shell stitch border:

Chained 270 sts approximately.

Work 1 sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. ^ Skip 1 st and work 5 hdc in the next st. Skip 1 st and work 1 sc in the next st.^ ?Repeat from ^ to ^ until the end of your long chain.

I then whip stitched the scalloped border/trim to the center part of the belt using matching color sewing thread. This allows the belt to lay very flat. Attach store bought belt buckle to one end. I made one end of the belt rounded which will be the end that shows. The other straight end is attached to the buckle. I’ve had this old belt buckle for about 50 years. It finally came in handy.
