The eyes were crocheted. I used light worsted weight yarn for these - specifically Lion Brand Heartland (black, brown, gray) and Red Heart Soft (white). You will only need a few yards of each color. Purchased a small package of sequins at Jo-Ann to add some twinkle to the eyes.

Unlike the previous one, this has a turned back brim. Although this will be warmer, I think I like the hat better without the turnback.

One skein of the yellow yarn was enough for the following:

2 hats for 16-inch head (toddlers)
1 hat for 18-inch head (Girls’)
1 hat for 13-inch (AG Doll)
