Knitting in the round on a circular needle is my least favorite way to knit -- so, no peaceful feelings from the get-go.
Pattern modified as follows to knit on straight needles. I’m knitting a 3-stitch i-cord edge on each side in a contrasting color; in my case, MC=Amarelle and CC=Vintage Denim.
Using a provisional cast on, cast on 45* stitches.
Set up row: P3 in CC; P39 in MC; P3 in CC.
This is the color setup throughout; the 3 stitches at each edge in CC.
PATTERN:
Row 1: (CC) K3; (MC) P1, slwyb, P2, slwyb (repeat from until 1 st before edge), P1; (CC) sl3 purl-wise.
Row 2: (CC) P3; (MC) K1, slwyf, K2, slwyf (repeat from until 1 st before edge), K1; (CC) sl3 purl-wise.
Row 3: (CC) K3; (MC) K39; (CC) sl3 purl-wise.
Row 2: (CC) P3; (MC) P39; (CC) sl3 purl-wise.
45 stitches is turning out to be 6” wide. I didn’t swatch, and that is unblocked. Just FYI.
I will work approximately 10 repeats (which is about 2.5 inches) everyday for 21 days, then work a 3-needle bind-off to make a cowl!
Ironically, the management of 3 balls of yarn isn’t exactly “peaceful,” either, but I stop every now and then and untangle in a very zen-like way… and I LOVE how it’s turning out!!
