So, my daughter’s teacher saw her Christmas mittens and SINCE she is definitely knitworthy, I’m selling her this pair for an extremely reasonable amount.

Somewhere around the $1/hour range, no doubt, excluding the wool.

I do like her. I also know why it’s not ever worth it (money wise) to knit small guage items :)

Went down a needle size since the recipient has smallish hands, to get a smaller size. Basically I won’t change to the 3 mm, stick with the 2.75.

Modifications;

• I’m doing a bit of ribbing (four rounds) - instead of the turned cuff,
• two knit rows, black
• the wrist chart
• two knit rows, black
• one knit row, colour
• two knit rows, black
• a modified version of the hand for a shorter, wrist length mitten, rather than the longer style they actually are written as. I omitted 18 rounds at the beginining of the hand section of the chart pattern.

All of this because I’m trying to make them ‘the same size’ as my daughters mittens (another pattern entirely).
