17/08 - my new circular needles arrived this week which meant I can at least make a start with this project. Cast on and knit the bottom rib
19/08 - opted for the seamless version and today finished 1 ball of wool (50g) with barely a couple of inches done. Growing v slowly with such a lot of stitches.
I’m adding a few stripes to this jumper and hoping for divine intervention!
04/09 - Already ripped out a few rows because the colours didn’t look good and then I discovered there’s quite a bit to learn about changing colour in the round…oh and ‘jogging!!’ Not sure whether to unravel to the point where I first introduced a second colour and apply all the clever techniques I’ve been reading up on. I know that’s what I should be doing but its so painful with three colours already in play and nearly 400 stitches per round!

19/10 - I find it easier to frog after sitting on the idea for a few weeks and thats what happened to this. Started again using a completely different yarn! This project is giving me plenty of opportunity to practice Russian style knitting.
03/11 - A LANDMARK….the first 16” (40cm) done!!
Started knitting stripes into the pattern from about 15”. 16” split for sleeves.
05/11 - neckline shaping, right front and shoulder shaping, left front and shoulder shaping. Continuing back stripes.
07/11 - shaping upper back and shoulders. Shoulder seams joined using 3 needle bind off.
08/11 - knitted neckline and BO (after picking up neckline stitches I had about 10 more than required these were decreased over the next 2 rows)
09/11 - one sleeve done….nearly there!
10/11 - sleeve two and BO. Finished knitting. Blocked
Even after blocking the bottom hem had a persistant curl which was finally removed after I tackled it quite brutally with my stream iron!
Finished weight: 337g
Great design and well written pattern. Easy to modify to add/subtract inches to length/width…thanks Joji
