Gauge - 30 rows x 4”(10cm) - 20 sts x 4”(10cm)
4 strands yarn - 2 Yeoman Panama and 2 linen lace
This is a shorter version of my original flat pack jacket. Although shorter in length and collarless I’ve followed a very similar construction to the original version.

I finally got around to adding the icord edge to my linen stitch jacket. I like the look when attached icord is applied but what I find more important is the structure it adds to heavier weight knitted garments like coats and jackets.
The applied icord method used is 3 stitches on my needles (dpn’s). Knit 2, slip 1 purlwise, yarn over, pick up a stitch from the edge of my jacket (5 stitches). Pass the yarn over and the slipped stitch over the stitch I’ve just picked up (back to 3 stitches). Move all 3 stitches along to the start (right end) of the and repeat.

The embroidery detail was added Sept 2019 and I still don’t feel like it’s finished but as yet haven’t got around to adding any further detail. I love the jacket and have worn it many times so calling it finished but I may still at a later date add more detail to the border embroidery.
Jackets are one of my favourite items of clothing and I’m really pleased with this knitted version. It looks good dressed up or down. Linen stitch resembles a woven fabric and makes for quite a dense fabric with little stretch either vertically or horizontally. This is ideal for something like a jacket and I’m really pleased with the weight and drape of the finished garment.
