Mods: I found it easier to work on some of the parts before completing others, therefore, I knit the ears before working on trunk (held sts on scrap yarn) - this made working the short rows and picking up sts a lot easier, I think, b/c I didn’t hate the ears as much as others; I also worked on the arms before I finished the body (again holding body sts on scrap yarn). It seemed easier to pick up the sts and also work the parts without having the weight of the whole elephant on the needles. I did the legs as written, after the body was complete, and I was glad I did the arms earlier.

Placed eyes before working on trunk (as others did); Contrast green “hooves”; Short rows on trunk to make it curve upward; I-cord tail (4 sts, I think)
