Notes

Here are my notes on the sock construction. Some prior experience knitting socks is probably required to decipher my pattern, but if you know how to turn a heel and pick up for the gusset, you’re golden.

c/o 44 sts
35 rows 2x2 ribbing

HEEL FLAP:
row 1: sl1, p2, (k1 sl1) to last 3 sts, p3
row 2: sl1, k2, purl to last 3 sts, k3

repeat 10 more times - 22 rows.

TURN HEEL:
k13, ssk, k1, turn
sl1, p5, p2tog, p1, turn

-6 sts each side of the gap
-decrease to 14 sts.

-Pick up 12 sts first side of heel flap
-k2, (p1, k3) to last 3 sts, k3 across top of foot
-p/u 11sts second side of heel flap
-decrease every other row to 44 sts, knitting pattern across top of foot. purl first st every row on needle with the second gusset.

FOOT:
Continue in pattern. Keep purling first st on the underside of foot, rest of sts in stockinette. Continue until foot measures 4” from heel.

TOE:
Change to second colour.
Knit one row stockinette.
Begin reducing every other row.
Reduce to 12 sts.
Kitchener and weave in ends.

Other notes:
Final foot length measures 5 1/2” when blocked.
