This is a pattern of my own devising. Second time knitting it, this time a bit larger. First time was for my son at 3 months (squarecicle hat).

Cast on 144 sts (36/needle).

Used a chain cast-on, garter st for 8 rows.

The picture with the brush all snaggled up in the yarn is courtesy of my son’s kind modification of my knitting project. Must remember to put my toys away.

Sep 2012: Done, but still haven’t blocked it or sent it to the baby (who is now 14 months) …. time to look for the next baby to give it to!
