Notes

Ms. Care’s directions and pictures are very good.
She is very attentive to queries.

Design detail:
the circular pieces are worked with staggered sets of increases so one doesn’t have the hexagon type lines radiating out.

This lion is a good project to use up stray yarn.

Used a 12” commercial round pillow.
Larger hook for body.
Smaller hook for face because that yarn was heavier.
Placed a little stuffing under the face circle and in the muzzle piece for some dimension.
Placed the eyelids slightly above the eyes for a more open look.
Added a carry handle at the upper back.

Errata:
Tail:
r 01- r 005: sc around. (9 st)
Should be:
r 04 - r 05: sc around. (9 st)

Fashioned 4 feet:

r 2: 6 sc inc. (12)
r 3: (sc, inc) 6x. (18)
r 4: (2 sc, inc) 6x. (24)
r 5: (3 sc, inc) 6x. (30)

r 7: 3 sc, 5 hdc dec, 4 sc, 5 hdc dec, 3 sc. (20)
r 8: sc around. (20) F/O.
Joined main body pieces and inserted pillow.
Attached feet before doing the hair.

from the designer on yarn amounts for her Pillow Animals:
The round pillows use a 16-inch pillow form. You can use commercial the pillow forms or make your own or use stuffing. One can make the pillows larger or smaller by adding or deleting rows. Directions for bigger sizes are included.

The amount of yarn varies depending on tension and the project.
The hedgehog and sheep use the loop stitch.
The height of the loop stitches determines yarn usage.
Omitting the loop stitch on the back saves yarn.
White, black, and light pink in small amounts for the details.

Hedgehog and Sheep use around 330 - 550 y of the main color.
Lion uses about 330 y of the main color.
