Our house just went up for sale (January 5, 2012) and I’m hoping to do this mystery KAL to keep my sanity while going thru this process! “I knit so I don’t unravel!” Very true words for me right now!

Trying to decide between these 2 yarns and beads!!!! What goes best with what?

Decided on the Lorna’s Laces solid green yarn and the matte beads.

Crochet cast on with my size 7 needle and a K hook. Put markers on as I cast on, starting from the left side of the chart. First time successful with correct # of sts.

Used the Dental Floss Method for beads and the Crochet Hook Method for the nupps. As long as I kept the stitches loose on the nupps, it was super easy. Lovely!

Opted for beads on clue 5 instead of nupps. I can do the nupps, and they are not difficult, but I’m just not fond of how they look. The project pics with beads on clue 5 of Susanna’s group thread called to me way more than the ones with nupps, so beads it is! Tried beading wire for part of my short row beads, but I think I like the dental floss better. Ended with 2 stitches (instead of 3) after decreases on last 2 rows, but assume that is correct.

Finished! Blocked out just lovely. The house hasn’t sold yet, but I think I still have my sanity! :-)
Update: February 18, 2012 - our house sold! Took about 6 weeks, just like the KAL! Sweet! Should probably start another shawl to keep my sanity now thru the packing/moving process! :-)
