Notes

This looks like an easy, fun shawl. Crescent shaped - my favorite so far. No beads, no nupps, just some simple lace.

Crochet cast on with a K hook. Put markers on as I cast on, so starting at left edge of chart, cast on 2, (placed marker, cast on 16)22 times, then placed last marker and cast on 1. Easy to keep track of stitches that way. I got out 23 markers to start (1 more than chart repeats), so when I used up the markers and did the last cast on stitch, I knew my numbers should match the cast on of 355. Once done, I counted my sections between markers to make sure there were 22 and then I did count and make sure there were 16 stitches between each marker. First try - successful! :-) And I never had to count to 355!

I’m not slipping the first stitch of each row, I don’t think it really matters and it’s one less thing to remember.

After lace chart done and before row 5 of the decreases, I put pins at correct points that needed SK2P’s so easier to keep track of where they were.

Row 6 of decreases, put lifeline in. 56 grams used so far.

On the pattern picture, there appears to be a garter ridge just before the short rows, but the pattern directions weren’t clear, so didn’t do a garter row. Contacted the designer. Yes, there is supposed to be a garter row there, she will check pattern and fix. Basically, what says row 7 should say row 6. Designer ended up letting me help her do an overall edit of the pattern and fix this error and some typos too! :-) Very sweet.

Next row - began short rows. 42 grams used for short rows.

Used top edge lace chart from my Polaris instead of binding off after short rows done.

Did a p2tog bind off on a RS row with my size 8 needle. Used 9 grams to do top lace edge and bind off.
