Notes

What a sweet pattern! At first, I was dismayed to see no charts, but it was a lovely, easy to follow written pattern.

Used M1R and M1L for my M1’s.

Used the magic double knot for my joins. First time to use, so a bit of a gulp - will they really stay knotted? But it was lovely to have no ends to weave in. Time will tell, but right now, this has become my favorite join.

Started out with a 24” cable on my circular needle, switched to 32” at section 7.

Used 15 grams of yarn to bind off with a size 10 needle!

After blocking, I’m not too thrilled with the ruffle. I tried blocking in a crescent shape to eliminate the ruffle, but it’s still there. I think I may undo section 7 and use abjoerge’s lace edging instead.

I also am considering My Version of Summer Flies except I don’t really want to add that much length to my shawl with the extra butterfly section.

Update - I did do My Version of Summer Flies - project notes here.

Final size - 38” X 17”
