Natasja is well-known for her beautiful grand mosaic shawls.
This year’s shawl is no exception—it’s adorned with stunning rows of tulips.
I am a happy tester.

As always happens when knitting with multiple colors, choosing the yarns took some time. I was set on using a dark MC and had a couple of options in mind for that. However, at the last minute, before visiting my parents, I chose the green yarns. My tulips will mostly be yellow.

My yarns were of different thicknesses: sport and fingering weight. However, the Merino Sport had a fairly soft twist that went well with the three fingering-weight yarns.

I used two shades of green - CC1 - in different parts of the pattern. In total - about 400 meters of them.

It depends on the yarn and the knitting tension, but Dots rows stretch the least. Tulip sections stretch more easily, but you still need to pay attention to your knitting tension.

To my surprise, I should have knitted the Coin Stitch section more tightly, because it stretches quite a bit with merino yarn.

After stretching, the shawl measures 70×204 cm.
