I cast on 5 extra stitches to add about an inch to the circumference of the hat, working 1 additional purl stitch in each repeat (so I have a slightly wider rib). I didn’t have the patience to properly work out how this will affect the decrease rounds, so we’ll see how that goes when I get there.

11 Jan 12: The hat’s blocking now. It’s an odd pattern! Not long enough for good slouch before blocking, but I think it’s grown after a soak. We’ll see!

12 Jan 12: It did, indeed, relax and grow in blocking. Yippee!
