I’m knitting these for the Socks That Rawk Q3 KaL (paid pattern)-
I really like the way the vertical slipped stitches cross the self striping yarn automatically produce a Tartan / checked / plaid-like effect!

Cast on 2nd size for toe-up but made increases for 1st size so - 60 sts plus 8 slipped sts., using ‘Judy’s Magic Cast On’, which I love!

Have just come to the short instep section, can’t wait to do the short row garter stitch heel…….
Loved the shot-row heel you don’t have to pick up the wraps with garter stitch!

Update- 22 August 2013- First sock completed.
I knit the cuff using 1x1 twisted rib instead of 2x2 straight rib. Used exactly half the skein for 11.5 inch feet so I am going to have to keep a close eye on second sock for gauge so I don’t have to go back and jiggle too much with the first sock.
Finished!!
That was close, I have about 1.5 meters left over…… wouldn’t want to do that again, but I did take the foot size and leg length to the absolute limit!! I am so happy.
