Colourway: Gran’s Kitchen
Ball band saying: Gooseberry
Top down sock

I love this colourway, it is cool and refreshing and does indeed remind me of my grandma and her kitchen.

The jade/minty green is reminiscent of objects that I remember seeing in my grandmas kitchen in the late 60’s (giving away my age here!)…her crockery, teapot and kitchen unit doors. She also wore one of those pop-together beaded necklaces in the same kind of hue, I loved to play with it when ever I visited her on Sundays!

I knit size medium as set, apart from finishing on 24 sts. for my little square toesies! (12 sts. each for instep and sole).

The ‘for all sizes’ heel length and shallow gusset is a surprisingly ample allowance even for my high instep and broad foot as the lacy stitch pattern is so forgiving and stretchy!
The ‘diamond heel pattern’ in reverse stocking stitch is a lovely touch, makes it so individual!

Another quick and easy knit!

I did have a small problem however, with remembering the some of the yarn overs especially the final yarn over in each grouping of the diamond pattern sequence…Goodness knows how many times I had to pick back!

39g left over :)
