Someone has worn a hole through the sole of one of his felted slippers.

(He’s getting a new pair for his birthday)

I used yarn from my stash, using a brown and gray cascade 220 for the sole, and 2 strands of the donegal from Elann for the top.

4/19/12 - finished, ends woven, and felted! (just in time for the birthday giving tomorrow!) -

For felting, I used a front loader washing machine. I put “dryer balls” into the washer with the slippers, a touch of soap, and washed them on “HOT”, checking periodically to see how they were felting. When they were ready, I put them in the dryer on MEDIUM with 2 dryer balls and tossed them for about 15 minutes. They’re still a touch damp but it worked just fine.
