I chose to knit a ribbed band at the beginning and end.

Size 8 needle
Long Tail Cast On - 78 sts - join in the round.
Row 1 - K 1 tbl, P 1, repeat around.
Rows 2 - 3 - K 1 tbl, P 1, repeat around.
Bind off knit wise.
Rows 4 - 7 picking up 77 sts with H hook, continue per pattern.
Row 8: With pink, 7 hdc in each ch 5 sp.
Row 9:Pick up 78 sts onto a size 8 needle.
Rows 10-12: K 1 tbl, P 1, repeat around.
Bind off.
