Thankfully I did a gauge swatch with my K hook. The gauge is supposed to be 13 dc = 4 inches. However, my swatch of 13 dc = 4.5 inches. Also, it is supposed to be 9 rows = 4 inches, but I’m getting 6 rows to the inch. This yarn is much thicker than Ravelry’s stated “aran” weight.

I have dropped down to H/I hooks. Swatching with I still gives me a little large for row height, but much closer on gauge across.

Finished the front in 4 days.
There is one ambiguous direction in the instructions. It says when you chain 3, it counts as 2 stitches. So on the rows that chain 3 and tell you to skip the first stitch, I thought we were already skipping a stitch due to the “chain 3” and then skipping another stitch but then my counts were getting off. I finally figured out that the instructions about the “chain 3 = 2 stitches” were just for when you are counting the total stitches along the top, not for deciding where to start stitching.

Finished front, back, collar, and one sleeve so far. I’ve used 2 whole skeins, plus a little bit of a new ball of each color way so far.
