03-02-2025

I finished the shoulders and was on row 12 of the neckline and then checked my stitch gauge. I’m getting only 5 stitches to the inch (20 stitches= 4 inches) instead of getting the required 25 stitches to the 4-inch. This means the sweater is going to be 25% larger than the pattern expects it to be. I had started knitting a sweater with an expexted 4 inches of positive ease (size XXL - 48 inches) but this means it will end up 54 inches instead. That is ridiculously too large. I have to rip it all out and restart knitting size L (38.5 will end up at 48” instead).

AARGH… when I got it wet to block it, the yellow yarn stretched so much. The armholes are now way under my bust line.
