This vest was made for a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Framingham State University in the Spring of 2015.

I rewrote the pattern repeat to make the right and left sides identical and easier to work the finishing single crochets . If I were to make this again, I would adjust the pattern even further by starting with row 2. Row 2 has more double crochets in it and would make a more stable and structured bottom edge.

Using a multiple of 3
Row 1: Dc in 6th ch from hook (5 skipped chs count as beginning dc plus ch 2), ^ch 2, skip 2 chs, 1 dc in next ch, repeat from ^ across row.

Row 2 (Right side): Ch 3; ^2dc in ch-2 space, ch 1, repeat from ^ across; ending with 2 dc in last ch-2 space, dc in beginning dc.

Row 3: Ch 5 (counts as beginning dc and ch 2); ^1 dc in ch-1 space, ch 2, repeat from ^ across row ending with dc in beginning dc.

Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows alternately for pattern.
