Notes

I’m not going to do the garter stitch at the top of the cuff. I’ll do all 15 rnds in ribbing. The ribbing is 1-1/4” long.

After working 2 reps plus 4 rounds of the third rep, I tried the socks on and they were loose around my ankles plus were really easy to put on over my heel so I’m going to rip them back to the ribbing and will rework them on 2mm needles. Then I’ll check the fit again.

It fits much better using 2mm needles plus I got 6 more rounds out of the same amount of yarn.

5 reps of the leg pattern plus ribbing is 6-1/4” long. Now I need to shuffle some sts around to work the heel increases and instep.

After 10 heel stitch rounds it was only 5/8” long, so 30 rnds/1-7/8” long. I’m going to rip it out and add extra work even rounds to get a longer length. 30 rnds divided by 1-7/8” = 16 rnds/“. 2-3/4” x 16rnds/“ = 44 rnds. I need 14 more work even heel sts rounds. Instep sts continue following Chart C.

Done the gusset sts and heel turns. I’m glad I did 44 rnds for the gusset sts. It fits perfectly, but it’s a little snug to put on over my heel. Blocking will help.

Done, except for grafting the toe, which I’ll do tomorrow.

Officially finished! blush The socks used 86.1g (342.7m/375.4y).

Before blocking the leg from top to the bottom of the heel flap is 8-3/4” long x 7-12” in circumference at the chevron section x 7-3/4” in circumference at the garter stitch section. The foot is 8-1/2” long x 7-1/2” in circumference.

After blocking the leg from the top to the bottom of the heel flap is 8-1/2” long x 7-3/8” in circumference at the chevron section x 7-5/8” in circumference at the garter stitch section. The foot is 8-1/4” long x 7-1/4” in circumference.

I’m between the two sizes so I’m going to knit the medium size but will change my gauge to 8 sts/“ instead of 8.5sts/“, using 2.25mm needles.

The balls weighed 48.2g and 47.5g = 95.7g - 1.3g = 94.4g. I cut off the first 1.3g of the 47.5g ball because it was not dyed well. There’s 4.4g and 4g left = 8.4g left.
