15/7 Urgh! More crap free yarn from Let’s Knit! This has to be the ugliest project in the world but I feel compelled to make it. I’m enjoying doing the bobbles and lace. It is hideous, but it’s working quite well.
18/7 Did an extra row or two on the pink garter stitch at beginning of second half by mistake, nobody will notice.
21/7 Oh buggery, I’ve run out of the green yarn so I can’t finish it off, only got the last green bit to do. How disappointing. :(
I hate it how the LK kits always seem to fall short on the yarn. I would say if you are going to knit this you need to just do 2 bobble rows on each side to make sure you have enough yarn to finish it, and replace the third bobble row with st st, or just knit every other bobble on the last bobble row on each side.
23/7 Lovely folks from Let’s Knit have sent me more yarn so I’ve finished the knitting. Sewing in ends is taking an age.
As I said it’s really ugly but it was excellent fun and I’ve actually started another in the free yarn from a few issues ago (blue and purple ones) I think it was supposed to be for a purse kit.
6/8/11 Finally finished this today whilst I was minding shop at Knit With Attitude in Stoke Newington. It’s a really lovely little shop, just opposite Abney Park Cemetery. Main photo is of the cosy on top of the button display in the shop window. Made a pompom instead of knitting more bobbles. I think I might have made the pompom a bit too big but as it’s a ridiculous item anyway I don’t suppose it matters that much.
