Notes

My four-month-old’s measurements are roughly a size medium, but I went with the large so the longies will accommodate her prefold diaper and also give her some room to grow. I did a K2-P2 rib waistband, and I’m using the stockinette gusset. My legs are shorter than the suggested inseams for the pattern because her bulky cloth diaper takes up some of the space that would normally be inseam. I am trying these on her as I go to get the leg length right, and then I’m going to put an inch-or-so of seed stitch along the bottom that can be folded up or down as she grows.

This pattern is extremely easy, however, there was one spot that I found confusing. When I got to the M1R/M1L section of the gusset, I scrolled down to read the instructions and found them to be in the opposite order as written. So, when I started my gusset, I did the make ones in the wrong order. I fixed it for the other side of the gusset. Lesson learned for the future.

When I make this pattern again, I will actually stick with longer legs. These are perfect when she is standing (supported, duh!), but when her little frog legs are bent, they are a little too short. I may pick up stitches around the cuff and add some length since she has plenty of growing room in the width of the overall pants.
