Rib worked in dark with Ktbl.

Chart M1 worked top down.

Colours reversed for M2 and M3.

M4 & M5 worked as charted until first decrease. Next row as charted. Nine full rows of M4 completed, and left on holders. M6 started, but on first row, end stitches K2tog in light.

Heel flap worked for 17 rows.

Toe decreases started on first dark row of square. Decreases worked every second row until 39 stitches remain. One row brown; kitchener closed in white, with 19 stitches on back needles and 20 on front.

Charts for this pattern are great, but the written instructions are a bit dense.
